Trustee for Maths on Toast

Introduction

Maths on Toast is the UK family maths charity. Our vision is to transform children’s and parents’ experiences of doing maths together.

Founded in 2012, our work started with communities in Camden. We currently work across several London boroughs and have a growing reach across the UK. Our mission is to enable every family to feel positive, empowered and inspired about maths – using our creative maths approach to address and overcome barriers such as maths anxiety.

We engage families in maths and work collaboratively with partners – schools, community organisations, charities – to offer a wide range of creative maths events, resources, programmes and products. We have big ambitions for systematic growth in the coming years. As our strategic plans develop, you can play a part in realising our desire to take the charity’s work to a whole new level – and to put us on a sustainable footing for the future.

Who are we looking for?

Maths on Toast is looking to appoint a new Trustee with experience of working with community organisations and/or charities. Given our range of stakeholders, it is vital that we continue to be cognisant of the needs of children and their families in marginalised communities and we are equipped to build meaningful relationships. You may have experience of working with a family or youth charity, a housing association, or a local authority.

We want our board to be representative of the society we serve, and welcome applications from people who are keen to try being a trustee for the first time, as well as those who may have more experience. If you are interested in applying and have any questions, please contact Dami Solebo: dami@mathsontoast.org.uk
