Celebrate Father’s Day with a Piem

What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than with a poem!

Well actually it’s a Piem! A fun way to explore the digits of Pi (π).

Here’s a quick reminder of what Pi and a Piem are:

Pi is the ratio of a circle’s circumference (the distance around the circle) to its diameter (the distance from one side of the circle to the other). Pi is constant, that means it’s always three and ‘a bit’!

A piem is a poem using words with 3141592653589323846 letters (in that order!) – that’s the digits in Pi to 20 decimal places.

You could write a piem about whatever you like. How about writing a message to all the mums out there to celebrate their special day? Download the activity sheet in the ‘Resources’ section below and give it a try.

We managed to 19 decimal places – punctuation doesn’t count!

π = 3.14159265358979323846
