Our Escher inspired creative maths session to create a piece of Tessellation artwork.
For primary schools in Scotland taking part in Maths Week Scotland.
Can you create a pattern on a piece of paper, made up of repeating shapes, without leaving any gaps, spaces or overlaps? That’s a tessellation!
The artist M.C. Escher is known as a master of tessellation, he took simple polygons (2D shapes with straight sides), changed them slightly and repeated to create beautiful drawings and prints.
