Playdough Rangoli

A Rangoli is a type of art traditionally created on the floor. During Diwali, which takes place 12th- 16th November this year, Hindus use the colourful patterns and designs (made using rice and sand) to encourage the goddess Lakshmi into their homes.

Our Playdough Rangoli activity gives you double the maths fun.

You’ll be measuring ingredients to make the playdough and investigating reflection and symmetry as you design your pattern!

Rangoli patterns come in all shapes and sizes but are often symmetrical, using designs taken from nature – for example, flowers and birds.
